The West Baniyas and Al Samha Projects in Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority is gearing up to launch substantial housing developments in two regions, West Baniyas and Al Samha. The total investment in these projects is estimated to exceed AED7bn ($1.9bn), with plans for 1,742 residential villas to accommodate local citizens.

West Baniyas: A Comprehensive Residential Project

The West Baniyas project is a comprehensive residential scheme that includes 1,500 villas along with infrastructural development, public amenities, and service facilities. The construction plan also includes eight mosques and 14 commercial buildings, enhancing the community’s infrastructure.

Spread across 584.7 hectares, the project has an estimated budget of over AED6.3bn. The completion is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027, marking a significant milestone in Abu Dhabi’s urban development plan.

Al Samha: A Niche Residential Community

In contrast, the Al Samha project is a smaller, more exclusive development featuring 242 residential villas. Along with housing, the project will also see the creation of various infrastructural works, two mosques, and a diverse range of retail units, offering a balanced mix of residential and commercial space.

Situated over 53.4 hectares, this project has a total cost projection of more than AED734m. The timeline for completion is set for the fourth quarter of 2025.

Strategic Partnership with Q Holding

To execute these ambitious projects, the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority has entered into a strategic alliance with Q Holding. Under the terms of the agreement, Q Holding will be responsible for designing and implementing both housing projects, thus contributing to Abu Dhabi Housing Authority’s mission.

Vision for Stable and Sustainable Housing

Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority highlighted the strategic importance of these projects. He stated that the contracts’ signing for the West Baniyas and Al Samha housing projects are in line with the leadership’s vision to ensure stability and social wellbeing for citizens.

Al Shorafa emphasised the authority’s commitment to fostering strong partnerships with both governmental and private sectors. The aim is to develop innovative solutions that meet social priorities in the housing sector in the emirate, ultimately creating integrated and sustainable housing communities that cater to the needs of citizens and their families.
